Educational Qualification

Applicants must have completed Matriculation or SSC (10th standard) from a recognised board and hold a valid ITI certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade. Along with this, they must have either:

  • A National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the respective trade, or
  • One year of hands-on experience in manufacturing operations as of 30 April 2025.

Eligible trades include Electronics Mechanic, Fitter, Machinist, Electrician, Turner, Sheet Metal, Welder, Carpenter, and Painter.

Age Limit

As of 30 April 2025, the maximum age limit for candidates in the Unreserved (UR) category is 27 years. Age relaxation rules are applicable as follows:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Length of service plus 3 years
  • ECIL contract workers: Up to 40 years, with category-based relaxations applicable

Application Fee

Applicants belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories must pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹750. The fee must be paid through SBI Collect (online or via an SBI branch). Candidates who belong to SC/ST/PwD, Ex-Servicemen, or are currently employed at ECIL are exempted from the fee.

Selection Process

The selection process for the Technician Grade-II post involves two stages: a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and a Trade Test.

  • The CBT will include 100 objective-type questions and will be held for a duration of 120 minutes.
  • Candidates must obtain a minimum of 50% in each stage and 60% overall to be considered for further steps.

After CBT, candidates will be shortlisted in a 1:4 ratio for the Trade Test based on their CBT scores. The Trade Test, which evaluates practical skills, will be conducted in Hyderabad.

The final merit will be based on:

  • 85% weightage to CBT
  • 15% to Trade Test

SC/ST candidates will receive relaxation in the minimum marks as per the reservation guidelines.
