Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying must fulfil the following requirements:
Educational Qualification Required
- AYUSH MO (Ayurvedic): BAMS degree from a recognised university with a completed internship and valid registration with the Bihar State Ayurvedic & Unani Medical Council.
- AYUSH MO (Homoeopathic): BHMS degree from a recognised university with an internship and registration with the Bihar State Homoeopathic Medical Council.
- AYUSH MO (Unani): BUMS degree from a recognised institution with internship and registration with the Bihar State Ayurvedic & Unani Medical Council.
Age Limit (As on 01 August 2024)
The minimum age must be 21 years. The upper age limit varies as follows:
- UR/EWS (Male): 37 years
- UR/EWS (Female): 40 years
- BC/EBC (Male/Female): 40 years
- SC/ST (All): 42 years
- PwD candidates: Additional 10 years relaxation
- Departmental candidates: 5 years relaxation (if eligible)
Also, candidates who were eligible as per the 2013 recruitment rules will be considered if they meet other conditions.
Selection Process
The selection will be made through a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by document verification. The CBT will be objective-type and conducted in multiple shifts if needed.
The exam process is systematic and fair. Candidates are advised to prepare thoroughly as per the NHM syllabus.

- Objective CBT (100 questions, 400 marks)
- Duration: 2 hours
- Each correct answer: 4 marks
- Each wrong answer: 1 mark deducted
Minimum qualifying marks:
- UR: 40%
- BC: 36.5%
- EBC: 34%
- SC/ST/Women/PwD: 32%
