Education is important in changing students’ futures. However, for many students in Odisha, especially those whose parents work in construction, continuing their education becomes difficult due to financial problems. The Government of Odisha understands this issue and has introduced the Nirman Shramik Kalyan Scholarship to support such children.
This scholarship is specially made for the children of registered construction workers. It helps them continue their education from Class 6 onwards without worrying about fees and study costs. The aim is to stop students from dropping out due to money problems and to give them a better chance for the future.
The scholarship offers money every year for education and also rewards students who perform well in exams. It is not just for one group but for all – SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, EBC, and General categories are all included. The last date to apply is 30th May 2025.
Nirman Shramik Kalyan Scholarship Eligibility Details
To get this scholarship, students need to meet the following rules:
- Must be an Indian citizen.
- Must be a resident of Odisha.
- Must be studying in Class 6 or above in a recognised school, college, or university.
- The parent must be a registered construction worker under the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board.
- The student must belong to one of the following categories: General, ST, SC, OBC, SEBC, or EBC.
- The student should have at least 50% attendance in the academic year.
- The student must have passed the last examination.
Scholarship Amount Given to Students

Note: Girl students will get 20% extra money over the normal scholarship amount.
Required Documents
Students must collect and upload the following documents while applying:
- Aadhaar card of the student
- Domicile certificate (proof of being from Odisha)
- Aadhaar card of the parent who is a registered construction worker
- BOC ID card of the parent
- Parent’s bank passbook copy (must have account number and IFSC code)
- The college or school ID card of the student
- Marksheet or certificate of the last passed examination

The last date to apply for this scholarship is 30th May 2025. Students must complete their applications before this deadline to get the benefits.
Students Selection Process
The selection process is very simple. If the student meets all the eligibility criteria and uploads the correct documents, they will be selected for the scholarship. There is no exam or interview.
Rules You Should Remember

- The parent must be a registered construction worker and must have paid their regular contributions to the welfare board.
- The parent must have a bank account with the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) facility in their name.

- On the dashboard, click on the ‘Register’ button and fill in your basic details.
- Tick the checkbox on the ‘Registration’ page and click on ‘I Agree’.
- Complete the registration by entering the required details.
- After registration, log in using your email and password.
- Fill in all the details like personal information, academic records, and bank details.
- Click on ‘Save’ and then on ‘Next’ to proceed.
- Upload all the required documents and click on ‘Submit’ to complete the process.
