Who Can Apply for the Swami Dayanand Scholarship?
The Swami Dayanand Scholarship is meant for students who truly need financial help and have shown strong academic performance. However, this scholarship is only for students who studied in government or government-aided schools in Class 10. Students from private schools are not eligible.
Candidates must also be 20 years or younger at the time of applying. Only students in their first year of college can apply. Students in the second year can apply only if they are enrolled in engineering or medical courses and have a valid reason for a gap year not exceeding one year.
It is also required that candidates must not already be receiving a full fee waiver from their college or institute. Preference will be given to students who have documents like salary slips, income tax returns, or income certificates.
Academic and Other Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this scholarship, students must fulfil several academic and background-related conditions:
- Students must have scored at least 80% in CBSE or 70% in any other state board in their Class 12 exams.
- Those applying in the second year of engineering or medicine must have a CGPA of at least 8.0.
- Students who have taken more than one gap year after school are not eligible.
- For engineering and architecture students, the All India Rank should be less than 90,000, and for medical students, it should be below 40,000.
- The family income should be less than ₹8 lakh per year, and families must provide valid income proof.
- Preference is given to students whose parents can speak Hindi or English for better communication.
- Income verification must also include two letters from neighbors, who are not relatives and who pay income tax.
